Our Lavvo

 

A lavvo is a big tent with an opening in the top. So the smoke can come out. The Lavvo is an original Sami invention. The Sami people who are the Scandinavian indigenous people, use it when they are moving reindeer over the width. The lavvo was in the beginning made of reindeer skin and long sticks. We in Røvær school are so lucky to have or own lavvo. We use it when we learn about the Sami people and their traditions.
